The video envisions a (possibly outer-worldly) robotic planting process into various non-soil growing substrates. The camera slowly approaches these homogenous, seemingly stable surfaces, touches them, leaving a footprint of the lens, and pulls out; triggering a cascading digital virus-like visual effect, similar to the distortions found in cracked LCD screens. This digital mould - a glitch the artists discovered while resizing images in photoshop - also spreads to the walls of the gallery in the installation, critical zone. |
